When, in a moment of drunken sincerity, one partner reveals to a horrifying secret from their past, their entire relationship is called into question – with the unspoken fears building to such a pressure point, it can only end in tragedy. Robert Pattinson and Zendeya both knock it out of the park in very human and believable roles, both demanding empathy from viewers in a challenging and often hilarious script by director Kristoffer Borgli. It’s not often that a new film based on an entirely original idea with A-list talent both in front and behind the camera drops in 2026. The Drama is a sterling example of why this sort of movie should never go out of fashion, no matter the – as fun, thrilling, and profitable it may be – fad of the moment. The film also features strong supporting work from an increasingly reliable Alana Haim, and Mamoudou Athie, who sells some of the funniest lines in a film full of them.
